    A. F. Prahm patented a unique ventilation system that consisted of perforated tubes in the top and bottom of the lamp. This produced "a reliable and brilliant light that cannot be extinguished by the most violent winds". These lamps were sold by Handlan-Buck and appeared in the 1900 catalog. The example shown above is for a Train Order Semaphore lamp and has 2 clear 5 3/8" standard optical lenses. This examples still has some of the original japanned green finish that was applied at the factory.
