I have no idea what this is. At first I thought it was a toothpick holder. Any ideas on what this is?

There's a hummingbird in the design, so it must have something to do with feeding the birds. The slit is purposely made and has not ruined the design, and can accommodate the bird's beak. That's my best guess.

If it's heavy enough not to be knocked over by a hummingbird, then I'm inclined to agree with Bonnie -- a hummingbird feeder. [;>)

It used to have a tape measure within it, I think.

It's a Pewter Hummingbird Postage Stamp Holder by MT. Thanks nutsabotas6 and everyone.

I see the practicality of it being a stamp holder, but I think Bonnie's guess that it was a bird feeder is more imaginative! [;>)))
