I just picked this up a week ago at my favorite pickers spot.
I always pick up cake stands when I see one, especially pressed or colored glass. I'm hoping for some help from TallCakes or Colorado pattern glass collectors (please).
This is what it looks like according to one of my collectors books.
Made by U.S. Glass as one of the State series. Colorado dates to 1897. Was made in clear crystal, ruby or amethyst stain, green or cobalt blue.
Rare pieces are also known in clambroth.
I haven't found a cake stand in the pattern "Colorado" like this one in any collectors books or search sites. This one is three footed and the size is 10 3/4" across top od. the plate x 5" tall. The last picture is of the top in black and white.

And the thanks for the information TallCakes. Have you seen one like this, or know which reference book it would be in?

the same pedestal was used on compotes and modified cake stands as fruit stands. This particular piece isn't in the Cake Stand book.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge TallCakes! I found the price guide on Kovels.com, so I knew it existed. That make sense that it is used for other purposes.
I have a pressed glass standard encyclopedia 2003 by Bill Edwards and Mike Carwile. It doesn't mention a cake stand, but it does a compote.

I see cake stands at my local thrift shops, but nothing as nice as this one.
