This collection of hat pins and hair ornaments started by accident. Quite some time ago I was wearing my hair knotted up and held by the wooden hair sticks on the right in this picture when a good friend of mind commented on the sticks. Shortly after he approached me with a package that included the majority of what you see in this photo. His Mom had died and he didn't know what to do with them so he gave them to me stating "I've never seen anyone ware them before." I offered to pay for them, even back in the 80's I knew they were old and had value but he wouldn't hear of it. He has since passed on and when I look at them hanging on the wall I think of my friend Dave.

It's great to see them all as a group. Now that we've seen yours and Marga's displays (and I remember seeing Val's and a couple other members' too), we could maybe start a thread (or several) and share our different ways to store and display our collections! I'll take photos of mine come daylight and share, and I'd love to see others!
