I bought this pair because they are octagonal. At first I thought they were octagonal, only at the rim and the foot, but on unpacking I found that the entire vase is octagonal. Between the glossy surface and the décor that has proved very difficult to capture.

The third image shows two further trophy vase shapes.

The fourth image shows the size of the octagonal vase compared with the yellow/white spatter vase posted earlier.

    Height 18cm./7 inches

Nice pair.... I love pairs..... This shape of vase was not only identified as Welz in Truitt I, but was shown in the Tango exhibition of 2011-12 in the Welz case. The example in both those instances was in pink variegated. I love this shape. It has been identified in about 6 different décors to date. I consider it to be a marker shape for Welz production.

The large yellow variegated example in the last image is very nice also. Large Trophy vases in that size from Welz are very very uncommon to find.

Hi Karen, thanks. In my experience, the Bohemian and later the Czech glass makers were very skilled in making moulds, a not insignificant part of the process. I cannot find any trace of the hinges or the opening of the mould on either of these pieces. In fact its rare that you can!

Hi, welzebub, thank you for the further information. I'm glad I didn't pass them by now!
The large trophy vase I found in an Oxfam charity shop. I opened the door and it was like a beacon ahead of me :)
