When I was a little girl (about 45 years ago lol) I found a spear head like yours in a small stream flowing down into Blue Lake in Modoc County CA. They are a truly a beautiful piece of our Native American history. I treasure mine as it also has a wonderful memory of my childhood attached to it.

MissKris, Modoc County is outstanding country rich in native american history.
My husband & I have very fond memories of the driving hywy 299 east.
I can see it now Mt. Lassen as well as the back side of Mt. Shasta. Do you know a place place called Fort Bidwell in N. Eastern Modoc Co.
There's not much there at all that's why we like it so much.
Now that I think about it, I found my very first artifact there I was so thrilled that I was jumping up and down hooping it, up my husband thought I'd come across a rattlesnake.

Sorry no, I don't know about Fort Bidwell. I only lived in Modoc Co. in the town of Alturas for about a year in 1964.
But it sounds like a great place! I live in SE Texas now and miss the cool of the mountains of California every day.

Yep, that's about as close to civilization you can get up in that area.. Alturas is still very remote...not much has changed there.
