This is CD 102 type insulator made by Diamond aka <>. These were made from 1890-1913, another 100 year old piece for under $10. This is a small one about 3 1/2" tall by 2 1/4"wide. If I recall correctly these were made for telegraph wires. If I recall incorrectly SpiritBear will correct me hopefully.
There seems to be a faint #5 on top which is probably the shop mark as each shop was paid by the piece.

Nice colour on it. Is it just one diamond or two?

All I know is I used to dig these up often which we just called telephone insulators. They were nice to find. Mostly blue, some purple.

Thank you very much Phil. I hear they are still out in the desert. It's probably easier to find them in antique malls though.

If it's only one diamond, it's Diamond Flint Glass Co. If two, it's supposed to be Dominion, which I think took over Diamond.

SpiritBear it is the Diamond Flint Glass version. This one was one of the easier to research which is good as I don't know much about this off the top of my head.

Thank you very much olebodie. There are a lot of roads in the middle of no one to check out. Within a couple hours drive that is.
