I bought this item at an estate sale, I was told it was Satsuma from the mid 19th century. I was wondering what anyone's opinion was if this was correct. The images appear to depict Chinese life, not Japanese but I am not familiar with any examples of Satsuma pieces. Any opinion on what this piece is would be appreciated. I also did not find any maker marks on the bottom that I could recognize. Thanks in advance.

Without Satsuma marking or a Shimazu mon in the decoration it would be considered Satsuma like or style but not Satsuma. The decoration is Japanese, but the vase could have been made in China. Perhaps someone familiar with this specific piece will add more.

pulforda...this style looks almost exactly like the one I have. I have been trying for years to find out more about it. I will post a picture of mine. :-)
