A stunning torquoise and diamanté glass with beautiful turquoise and white enamelled leaves. The turquoise glass diamond cut. Interesting the backing is in a silver alloy with 3 leaved clovers and an incredible display of artistic metal working. Just adorable. I'll have to look again at the brooch clasp to see its a c closed clasp or open but I vaguely got the impression, it was 1920s.

Any help, greatly appreciated . I just adore this...... Pls see next posting up soon .

I wonder if the back center where there is that criss-cross pattern helps anyone know of a maker that did that on their pieces??

      Worth a shot ...

Great photos Anne to see the detail.
It's a beauty...I love the touches of colour on the white enamel.

Karen, thank you. You know your brooches well if you can see the affect of the enamel and how they accentuate the brooch.
      This is so true.
What strikes me too about it is the lines of diamente and the diamond type cut of the turquoise glass. I love the detail theyve used in this brooch. It is not an amateur job. And this is what I'm realising with this collection I've built. At first I started collecting them because I thought they were pretty. Now I find I'm attracted to them because of the workmanship and the detail in them. And they really are so under valued.
The shame of it is that is is such a sexist item. That traditionally only women wear them. I wish I could see an era where men had the ability to feel comfortable enough to wear such items of beauty. And it's not their fault as to why they don't wear them. It's society!

Ah Valentino, you show your age...and I'll have to query you on this...surely the last era was the 1980's, Boy George, Adam Ant, David Bowie, Mick Jagger. They were all "doing it", wearing brooches, make up, clothing with big lace arms and neck lines....I hope you don't mind the challenge... :)
