The GE model F11A103 was made by General Electric from 1951-1959. It is called a personal fan although with a 10" blade it is a bit large for that. This one is a bit unusual as the cage is attached to the base instead of the motor. This fan is a single speed fan. Originally there was an on/off switch on the cord but it apparently wore out long ago and was replaced by a rather unattractive heavy duty yellow cord. Should be an easy fix to add a switch and a less obtrusive cord.
GE fans along with Westinghouse were top of the line and were sold at high end department stores like Macys.

Love these old, metal fans. Always reminds me of old, black & white WWII movies....... somewhere on a South Pacific island, a lieutenant naval officer in sweat-stained khakis typing a report on a Remington manual typewriter, an olive green GE desktop fan quietly humming....... [;>)

Thank you very much NevadaBlades. Reminds me of a dingy auto repair office.
