We have these J. D. Dales platform scales in our Museum. It doesn't have any weighs on either of the 2 arms. Without the weighs the scales are useless to us. Patent date is Auguest 1838, Lansingburgh, NY. I believe our was manufactured in 1846. Can anyone tell me what in the ways of weighs I should be looking for? Are weighs interchangeable between different scales? If anyone can tell me exactly what I should be looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. It is a beautiful items but without weighs; useless. Thanks.
