Anyone know what this is? I don't understand the marking? Has engraving of India on the front... About 3" x 4.5" ... In my grandpas box of "memories" but we have no further info... thanks

It is a souvenir cigarette case.

Probably a WW2 souvenir from a pilot or soldier who served in the China Burma India (CBI) theater. Did you grandfather serve in WW2?

I BELIEVE HE DID...IS THE CASE SILVER OR STEEL AND WHAT DOES THE MARKING STAND FOR? THANKS FOR THE INFO

I am not familiar with the markings.

Most that I have seen are not silver-- I cannot tell with yours.
