This ring was bought along with the group of jewelry bought this past Sunday. The "stone" is deep blue glass. Inside marks are 925 and OC5 and another mark that's illegible now. After I cleaned the ring, the glass fell out- someone had glued it into the setting. It's fixed properly now. Age-wise, it looks like 1970s to me.
    And, it's my size....of course!

    Thanks for looking/loving, everybody.

You're lucky you didn't lose the glass when it fell out, like I did once. My fault, though. I had a nice turquoise ring once, for many years, before the stone fell out. Like the lazy fool I am, I simply put the stone back into the setting. It fell out again later that same day, but the second time I couldn't find the stone! [:<(

Please would someone bring me a powder (just inside the cupboard), I'm just not sure I'll be able to get over this one. Oh yes, a cold compress for my forehead - you're very kind.

How does this lady do it? And, would you believe it, the right size!

In broad daylight - never hiding in the shadows, picks up something she has espied - it's dirty, and grimy, at such an absurdly low price. Just what she has been looking for.

How carefully but firmly she cleans it, and soon the treasure begins to show itself. Maybe the cloth dislodges some grime that had been keeping the ring in its' setting. and the glass falls.

Just look how she repairs the ring, such expertise! Worries about the stone falling again, completely evaporate.

Another victory, another gorgeous ring has been saved.

NB - I was lucky, because the stone fell into the dish of soapy water, where I had a number of dirty rings soaking. I had no idea it had been glued. I carefully reformed the setting. The glass has a teeny tiny bit of movement but that is only noticeable to myself. I didn't want to make the setting too tight because I would risk shattering the glass.

Gillian - THANK YOU! This ring wasn't even with the silver, but in another box filled with all sorts of jewelry, mostly bijou junk. I always look carefully on this dealer's stall. I found some lovely silver and gold jewelry for a little bit of money! I bought a big, beautiful .8oo silver bracelet from him last year for $2.00 - 1940s, made by a prolific German silversmith (marked). I wear it every single day. I will see him again this coming Sunday, and you can bet your bippy I will be looking at EVERYTHING, since he is bringing new items for me. Weeeeee! I can hardly wait. I'm worse than a little kid waiting for Santa.
