      Post pix of this on Railroadiana Online. ( http://www.railroadiana.org/) They can't give you an appraisal but there are some very knowledgeable people on that site who might be able to give you info about it. After you determine what it is then look at Ebay for what similar things are going for. If you can find out the maker and what railroad it possibly came from that would be helpful, as items from a dinky little shortline with limited items remaining can sometimes bring far more in value compared to someone like the Pennsylvania RR who owned hundreds or thousands of some items.
