    I found this piece in my yard, a on e heavily traveled land by the Native Americans of the Northeast. Having trouble identifying any input would be greatly appreciated.

      Did you know if you submit a request for appraisal from the Smithsonian, and send many excellent photos (by mail only) they may chose to give you their opinion and appraisal. Maybe with invitation to submit the piece in upcoming auction? That could be how they acquire some of their best offerings. Those interested need to contact them to see if that is still an option, it was last year. Just a thought.

      Hopefully they still offer the service--apply for a appraisal request form and fill it out with as much detail as possible and photos...Good Luck!
