I picked up this beautiful, large woven mat at Urban Ore the other day. i love it! i'm trying to find someplace where i can mount it correctly on an inside wall, but i may have to use the ceiling! no wall space left! where do you think it's from? Tahiti? Samoa? Fiji? Tonga?

I was thinking maybe Morocco??? Don't a lot of Muslims live in Morocco? I thought the pattern or design looked Islamic???

i don't think so Nevada. i forgot to mention that this is made of sisal - or palm leaves/fiber. that's not used in Morocco, but is in the pacific.

this might be a very fine Wh?riki from New Zealand - made from flax or it could be a fine banig from the Phillipines - made from Pandanus leaf. i don't know how to tell the difference. the pattern is the most beautiful one i have seen though.
