      We used to call it finger knitting - Wow that sure was a long time ago.

      In my part of England we called it French Knitting. Usually ours were homemade.....your Dad hammered four nails into the wooden spool that sewing thread came on. Yes Gillian, long long ago:)

      Thanks sklo42.....this is the same as ours were made in Australia!!!! Could not for the life of me remember what we called it...... so yes, ours was French Knitting too......thank you!

      Oh my - French knitting! I really don't remember for sure if it was finger knitting or French knitting - they both sound very familiar.
