She has been on my mind since my original post. And thanks to the interest of others here and especially to scottvez and rniederman, I have delved deeper into the wonderful history researched and gifted to me by my cousin. I have three large volumes which contain years of work by this good man. And thanks to him I am able to oh so effortlessly choose a volume, a name, a year, etc. and enrich my knowledge of the history of these folks who carried the same DNA as I.
I am so grateful!
I regret that in my youth and as a young busy mother, I had little time and honestly, little interest to read or appreciate any of the information shared with me by relatives who are no longer with us.
Now, at age 60, I find myself wishing I could hear their voices and soak up their knowledge. I am lucky to have what's in print and I am grateful to the many family historians who have passed before me.
My dad did his best using an old typewriter and cassette tapes back in the 1970s before the luxury of the internet and its instant gratification! And I do recall much of what he shared with me. My treasures I value most above the jewelry and pottery, dishes and paintings are always the family story in photos, stories, report cards, diaries and all.
Thank God I come from a long line of pack rats!

First photo: copy of a copy etc. This is she as a younger woman.
Second photo: Previously posted photo.
Third photo: Gravesite of her daughter. She is believed to be buried alongside her. The photo was taken in 2003 with permission from the current owners of the farm on which the family cemetery is located.
What is documented: born Dec. 1, 1828 in Boll, Donau, Wuerttemberg, arrived in Port of New York, USA as passenger of the Bark J. Ahlers on the 27th of March 1859. She married in 1859, lived and died on a farm in Franklin Co., MO in 1904. Their 40 acre farm was purchased on April 23, 1879 for $100!!!!

I would think that photo #2 shows the woman at an older age than #2.

do you mean first photo looks older than second, scottvez?? At any rate, I do not have dates on the photos. I was pleased to find another copy of this same ancestor.
actually, when I reread my post, I see that I stated that she was younger in the first photo. I have no proof which photo is of her at a younger age. Looking at her dress in both photos makes me think you are right. The dress in the original posted photo looks older than the dress in the one I posted today. You keep me on my toes, scott.
