A friend found this in a box of vintage items. It's adjustable as you can slide the "locking ring" into the grooves on the side in order to lock it in position. It is heavy, not lightweight like an olive tong. We have no idea what it is. Do any of you know?

Dizzydave Really?! It's awfully heavy and industrial, not "dainty" at all.

      Dizzy's right - here's another pair:

Well, thank you both for your input. I'm amazed at the heft and ruggedness of this piece. Thank you both!

Any idea as to why the screw is on the end?
    6. Efesgirl Efesgirl, 8 years ago
Not one clue. The one on Etsy has the same eyelet screw.

      A towel holder.
    8. vetraio50 vetraio50, 8 years ago
A more industrial form of the napkin holder.

I'm with vet, with the eye screw attached, this looks more like a hand/dish towel clamshell holder tongs
