The first photo was in my wifes old scrap book, the pilots and alternate pilots for the around the world flight with four Douglas made world cruisers. The name of the four planes were called
Seattle, Boston, New Orleans, and Chicago. The pilots and alternates were:
Chicago 1st Lt. Lowell Smith, 1st Lt. Leslie Arnold
Boston 1st Lt. Leigh Wade, 1st Lt. Henry Ogden
Seattle Maj Frederick Martin (Commander), Sgt. Alva Harvey
New Orleans 1st Lt. Erik Nelson, 1st Lt. Jack Harding
The flying time was 371 hours and 26,000 miles.
The pilots were in what they called Air Service, This was before becoming The Army Air Corps.
