For quite a while I have been studying the Butler Brothers catalogs as records of Bohemian/Czech glass being imported to the USA from 1900 to about 1932. I have also tried to find some actual, surviving pieces. The earliest are the hardest because they do not look "CzechArt Nouveau" but Victorian. In the BB 1900 catalog, a set of enameled jugs caught my attention (pic. 1) because they would be easy to trace: green glass with gilding and lilies-of-the-valley enameling. I did find one and stupidly let it pass. So I set out to search for other similar pieces (pics. 2,3,4). Luckily, so far I have found two. The pieces above exhibit the general characteristics of the jugs. Of course, they are not sold as Czech, but as Victorian! The ruffled mouthed piece exhibits a broken pontil mark; the amphora does not have any. Both pieces are about 10" high.

Very interesting post, Alfredo, and it's exciting that you got the pitcher. It caught my eye especially because I recently found a little handled toothpick or shot glass, painted with similar kind of "blobby" thick lillies-of-the-valley" design. I haven't been able to find any matching pieces for it, yet.

Do a search for Victorian glass. Is your shot glass green as well?
