I obtained this photograph at a recent sale. It is an 8 by 10 original print on glossy paper. The GG1 engine framed by the electrical supply system connotes a great sense of power, and aestheticism, enhanced by its sharp black and white capture on film.
The Art-Deco design of the engine, and the electricity carried by the wires renders a sense of optimism through smooth, more or less quiet motion…...
