Hi this is my salesmans sample steamer trunk I just refinished this trunk last picture is what it looked like before I would love to know if this trunk is rare I do know you don't see to many this nice ad complete this trunk is missing the Leather handles and the lock is brocket but I just love this trunk any more info about this trunk would be gladly appreciated thank for reading.
I believe it is a antique doll trunk 1800's- early 1900's . I have seen many of these in doll collections ,very beautiful .

I have a regular size trunk almost exactly like it. I also collect samples. Would you let me know if you are ever interested in selling it?
My trunk was passed down through the family. Sadly, I know very little about it.

Wonderful salesman trunk. Some also refer to these as toy trunks or doll trunks. It's fairly rare to see the complete interior and in such beautiful condition. I have several in my collection, but not a tin covered one like this. There are still many of this type of trunk available today, but most I come across do not have the wonderful original interior as yours does. I have on with the same identical hardware, bit mine is covered in striped canvas.
