I'm sorry the photos are so poor - they don't display my ladies at all well but I'm sure if you having ever seen Zsolnay Eosin glaze items before you will know how spectacular they are.

This beaker (or vase, whatever) has 4 partially clothed ladies, all the same, spaced evenly around. They are holding a wine goblet in their left hand and resting a basket of grapes on their right hip. Around them are grape vines loaded with bunches of grapes.

I don't know if they are just representative of harvest maidens, or maenads or some other ancient goddess.

    What do you think?

I think this design is from early 20thC but as Zsolnay have made so many designs and continued to make many for decades I really can't date this. It appears to have the late 5 church steeple stamp (after 1960?) but am happy to have guidance. It could have been made last year.

Gorgeous piece and I'm happy to have it after lusting after some Zsolnay for a long time!

Thanks Peggy. One of the good things is it's not glass, so I can feel good about breaking out of a rut. Thing is, it looks a lot like glass anyway......
