This vintage bottle opener is from Korea. My former father-in-law, a Korean War veteran, brought it back. The opener is about 8 inches long, made of steel and has Korean text on each side. As you can see, one side is red, the other blue.
Does anyone know what is written in Korean or anything else about this stout bottle opener?

The writing is not Korean. It is Japanese. The red side says "Asahi Beer." Asahi means 'morning sun' and was established in World War I by German POWs. I cant make out the third character on the blue side because of the flash, but the last four characters read "cider." It may have been left over from the Japanese colonial rule, or brought over from troops stationed in Japan. What a great piece of history!
