I picked up this bottle to see what it was, looked it over and suddenly noticed it has a salmon etched into the back of it.

Studying it, I noticed the etching is behind the damage, so I immediately knew it was done long ago.

The dairy was located in Detroit, but I didn't see another fish-etched one online.

Condition is poor, but it was too unique to pass up.

Really Racer. What possible connection could there be between a salmon & a fish ? There must be a story behind it & probably interesting. We have a steep hill here in SXM called "Naked Boy Hill" & I'm trying to find the story behind that.

There is also an etched-in M above the fish, to its right, just under the rim.

I think someone did it. Then it either ended up back in circulation or tossed in the lake to give it such wear.

Maybe it was done by somebody messing with etching like I have. I etched a Baccarat vase for Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands for the Island of St. Eustatius. Another story ! Turned out perfect, - @ probably in her basement ! Hey, the sentiment we had ! Wonderful woman to met & talk to.

It's been an interesting and intriguing life ! Hey, the Queen was on the street looking at my house & I went I talked to her & her "Nazi" husband. I've met Amer. "celebrities" & they all seemed impresses with themselves. These people were "REAL" & enjoyed talking. I learned decades ago to just simply talk the them ! These people, from my experience, don't like to be talked "up to". Just be "normal". I knew Frank Borman for several yrs. before it was pointed out to me who he really was & told by a mutual friend, "That's why he likes you, Lucas. You talk to him as a friend". I still talked to him the same way afterwards ! They are just simply PEOPLE ! Usually nice people ! ( Not considering Amer. pricks). Sorry ! When you start thinking that people are better than you, that's when your trouble starts ! Please remember that.

Oh, no worries, Blunderbuss. I've met a few famous people in my life and treated them the same. The Red Hot Chili Peppers used to own 3 wolves and 2 dogs at where I volunteer. I met them, helped show them around, and treated them as normal guests at the Animal Sanctuary.
The wolves and dogs they had are now gone as this was about ten years ago, but they acted just as normal people, so I acted the same toward them.
In a comment not long go here, I asked the question why we put more importance on some people over others. We're all people (but I'm a bear ;) ), so why make a big fuss about some versus others?
