As a collector of antique and vintage silver items I am always on the lookout for unusual and unique items which this is one.It is a silver stand or vase holder with beautiful mermaid handles .Im wondering if any of you kind folks out there have seen one of these and might know what sort of glass insert it might have had.It displays beautifully as it is and I'm thrilled to own it.

Those are London marks for 1935 I think. That was a Jubilee Year for 25 years on the throne for King George V. Above the hallmarks is a portrait of him and the queen. Can you sat what the letters of the makers marks on the left are?

They are unclear in the photo. AJW ???

Hi guys , I'm so sorry about the bad photos .I just acquired this piece and was anxious to share it with everyone. The initials are AJW.It measures only 6x 6 inches and weighs almost 400 grams. The pictures don't do it justice at all.

You have a difficult one it seems. I have only seen one mention of that mark on the net and it was not very informative at all. Check it out and you'll see what I mean:

Hi , I see whAt you mean.... thanks for all of your help!!!

The mark above the Hallmarks is an impression of the front of the King and Queen on the occasion of their Silver Jubilee in 1934.

It is a most beautiful piece.

...the front of a special coin/medal - pictures of it look like silver.
