I wish I knew the history of it. I do not know the language either, but I bought it from a traveling trader through the mountains of Afghanistan. He did not want to part with it lightly, but did.

Bactria was a region of the ancient world centered at today's Afghanistan, but much larger than Afghanistan, stretching into Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Iran, and northern India. Demetrios I was king between 200 and 185BC. Many of Demetrios's coins show him wearing an elephant headdress, with a trunk sometimes confused to be a snake. On the back, Hercules stands naked with club and lion skin, crowning himself.
This coin is a conterfiet , value of these coins are low due to that issue.

Oh- I see it is a fake. At least I have a few gemstones that are in raw form. I know they are real :)

The most prominent feature of fakes executed in sand molded casting (when inspected under e.g. 10X jewelers loupe) is rough surface finish. Genuine coins are struck.
