Purchased in Hongkong in the 1980s, large plate. Unsure of origin or style as haven't seen one similar. Possibly in style of Ming cloissone. Can anyone help in identifying origin?

have you ever got that feeling that you are loosing it, well i have it all the time, is this a rebus , is this an homophone , is it just Confusionism, or is it just a random precious table

what MIGHT We have here . a sort of stylized Castanets of Cao Guojiu, the patron saint of theater actors maybe left to the middle

do we have a sword or do we have a rhinoceros cup , probably the latter right next to the vase , well it is important for the dynamic ribboned rhinoceros is a blessed symbol for the scholars and the sword is a kind of an redemption symbol for the sick and also associated with immortality

right under we got we got a sort of book pile stacked what the French call en filet
this is the Confusion symbolism for moral standards and knowledge acquisition

the next question is a vase just a vase because we got a lot daoist symbolism

the vase is probably emphasizing the symbolism because the chinese word for vase is the same with ping and ping means placid or peace ( for the language user scientists = it leads to homophony)

so finally i thought i solved the problem , but suddenly as a deus ex machine i saw the fang ding next right the vase , and i did,not understand , because there is no metaphor for a fan ding

well s... happens at least i tried
