I've had these under wraps for at least 10 years. The gal that I got these from told me they were Waterford but I cant find the name on either one. I have no idea how old, what pattern and if they truly are Waterford.

I have gotten down 6 boxes of this stuff and have already spent tons of time looking. Where do I start? These just need to go. Haven't used them yet although many of them are really pretty. Heavy too.

I'm lost. I've even looked for a catalog, no luck.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks for looking.

"R" has the butter dish as Portico by Crystal Clear Industries:

the vase looks like gray cut European lead crystal; maybe Germany or Poland

Awesome, thank you. I wonder why this lady told me they were Waterford? I didn't purchase them from her, I was just holding this stuff for her. I think 10 years is long enough, right?!? Ha.

That vase was very hard to photograph and I haven't really gotten a clear one yet. It's my understanding that Waterford is all signed, is that true?

you're very welcome. it seems folks often get confused on provenance as time passes. I think that most Waterford is marked.

The thing is Sue that even known Waterford crystal is pretty undervalued these days. Unless you can identify the pieces as TallCakes has, and those pieces are highly collectible, they may not have been worth 10 years of storage space even!

TallCakes, I got some time to check the link you left for me, again I'm just amazed at how widespread your knowledge is on glass! It would have taken me forever to find that & I would have been soooo disappointed had I put all that time just to find out it's a new piece!

Thank you so much for your time. It truly is appreciated!!!

Karen, I totally agree with you! Do you think many don't buy because of the lead? But doesn't all that pretty colorful glass have lead too? Now that I've seen the high end pieces on here, I know I would much rather have that even tho the crystal pieces are pretty.

I've gotten a couple boxes open now and got a few surprises of what I know to be old, non crystal pieces that are from Japan...I think you'll love ;) Oh, the foot's not broken, she got a pain shot and fell again outside the hosp! This is my life hahaha OOOooo what can I say. I'm just shakin my head!

They look great. I still use butter not margarine, so I always use these.

Hi Phil! I use butter too! Real butter, I love it. This one is really cool, I think it's what they call cased or encased. I'll probably keep this one and the round top one I just found too. I'll post it in the next few days, it's a real pretty one as well.

Thanks for the love and oh so sweet comment!

Trey, They do tend to belong on a very formal dining table and not if you've got hungry little ones clambering about, right?!? Then it's crystal pieces everywhere! hhaha
