Purchased this fellow at an antique mall. We found two that day in the same mall. One was out of my price range as it was in perfect condition and priced as such. The second, my flawed bunny, was half the price because an piece of iron that extends off of a foot had been broken off. I am not a purist when the damage does not take away from the looks of the item. This bunny is just as handsome and it took us a few to figure why he was so much less than the other guy!

Looks like it has a purpose. But what ?

Looks like a mold to me. Butter molds are usually wooden. Chocolate maybe? Maybe to make a metal decoration?

Thanks for the loves blunderbuss and ravage60. It is a cake mold. I have not made a cake in it but I did make large scented wax rabbits in it one year for Easter decorating.

      Mary,
This is just a wonderful find!! I've seen several of these over the years, but the prices were always way out of range and I had to pass on them. This one is really a great find!!
