Hi, this is my dresser, that I just picked up at house sale for $40. I do believe this dresser to be empire made sometime in the mid 1800s with some type of mahogany possibly framed mahogany.this dresser measures approximately 4 feet wide by 50 inches tall I've taken photos of the dovetail constructed on the side of the drawers. I do believe all the drawer knobs are original to the dresser each drawer has a lock with keyhole each drawer gets deeper with the bottom drawer being the deepest my guess is that possibly back in its day the bottom drawer was use for blankets. I would also love to know if I am correct on its year that it was made.

      A real bargain!

It is an antique-- 19th century.

      I wouldn't call it empire.

It is not US-- probably UK. The tiny dovetails, pulls, and general construction are all indicative of the UK.

I am not sure on the wood veneer-- hard to tell what it is.
