I purchased this lamp from an ex-coworker a few years ago. I was told that her brother purchased at an antique store about 40 years ago, and that was all the information she had about it. The lamp's measurements are 73" to the top of the rasp x 58" up to the rasp x 44" around the base. The shade is 37" tall x 70" around (circumference). It's made of a ceramic plaster and it is solid. The shade looks like it could be made of satin.
Over the years I have only been able to find a small amount of information about it. But recently, I managed to find a similar style of lamp that has lead me to believe it could possibly be Art Nouveau and that it may have been made in France in the early 1900's.
Hopefully someone will be able to tell me more about this amazing piece. I love the excitement of finding and collecting antiques, as well as learning the history of them; and the story it has to tell.

I have the same lamp. My Grandma bought it in the 60's from somewhere in New York City. I too would like to find out more info. I had a lady tell me it was Art Nouveau and 1900's also. Do you find any other information about it. My lamp has crystals and five light bulbs.
