    PostCardCo…
    (437 items)

I had an argument over this photo with my great-grandson 21 brought me saying "Here is a cute little girl"--I said "Oh no--that's a boy" He looked at me like had gone senile and started a big discussion. Now I hope some people post here that it is a BOY. Please??
Cabinet Card, c.1900 says at bottom "Coumbe, Bath, NY."

His issue was the scollops on the button shoes..."that only a girl would wear"

I know boys wore dresses around this time. Very young boys that is. Maybe a boy's dress wasn't as frilly.

SOBER OR SOMBER, looks quite the unhappy boy. Did boys wear their dresses on a regular, daily basis or only on special occasions, such as birthdays and holidays, or for taking a photo portrait???

He's a dead ringer for a very young Clint Howard!

He certainly is a dead ringer--but I don't know who Clint Howard was--or is.

NevadaBlues...The most common meaning of sober is "not drunk" — people who drive need to be sober. Sober sounds a lot like somber, and it often means sad and quiet too.
