What else was there to do on those days when you lived on a farm and you and you finally had some time off? Our family created, built and had real fun... I am the cute one in the middle and this was the summer 1962...

It was a great ride , when the wheels & tires wer'nt on the hay rake, or the motor was'nt on the elevator, But then I guess there was'nt time to ride it then.

Very Cool Dan! Having grown up in the 50's and 60's myself, I can relate to building one of these, although, all mine were electric, hence the 100 ft. drop cord, and go around in circles deal ! In looking at your motor mount, i assume the board that the motor is mounted too provided the spring tension for the belt or chain drive to the old car rear end, is that correct?

Thanks lzenglish.. The engine was bolted sold as well. We had an idler pulley and connected to a foot peddle, depressing the peddle would tighten the belt. Engine speed was controlled by a cable and hand operated..
