I got this doll as part of a lot over the weekend. I couldn't find anything on the internet that would help me identify the maker. The doll is marked 250 on the back of her neck. Her clothes are unmarked. They look original to her.

She has rubber legs, hard plastic arms, an applied wig and a cloth body. Her crier only makes squeaky sounds when tapped on. She is about 16" tall.

Any help with identification of this doll would be very appreciated!

    Thanks all for stopping by.

    *Title Updated- Thanks, Manikin!

She is a Mama doll and dates from 50's . original clothes but hard to know maker when not marked as many companies were making these types of dolls with crier in stomach . It is supposed to sound like Mama but few did :-)

Thank you, Manikin, for helping out with this one, too. Why are they called Mamas? Because of the outfit and mature face? Or the role they were assigned in the doll world? =)

I saw a reference yesterday that Arranbee marked their dolls with a mark including number 250...does it look like an Arranbee doll?

Called Mama dolls because crier box was supposed to sound like doll saying "Mama" :-) Arranbee marked their Mama dolls R&B and only made them in composition that I know of .
