    just bought this item, can anybody enlighten me as to its likely origin and age, I think its very interesting, I have never seen such a translucent piece of work that wasn't modern glass

      This beautiful vase is actually plique a jour, a form of cloisonne. Although the Japanese make these too I am pretty sure this one is Chinese, possibly early 2othC, because of it's style.
