Picked up this amazing set and can't seem to get a confirmation on whether it is Lenox? I haven't found anything with cranes. Also, I had the metal tested and it is cobalt. This has me very confused :-)

The blue is porcelain and a bit heavy, which made me think early Lenox. But after tons of research on the internet.....I am still 100% clueless.
I can not find a marking, cartouche or anything on this piece. I have gone over it with a magnifying glass and some serious lighting. The cranes aren't showing up in any searches either.......ugghhh!

The crane is a revered bird in Japan, and I am guessing that is where it originated from, however many European potteries copied that Japanese style in the 18-19th centuries. It is very well made, of high quality with the raise relief detailing. It may have been a commissioned, one of a kind piece for a person of importance.
What is the history you know of? Cobalt is a mineral often used in blue glazes, but you had the metal tested as being cobalt based, which means it should be magnetic, so test it with a magnet. It is still probably gold plated. Germany was an early producer of the metal, and of course the source of some exquisite ceramics too.
