Looking at photo 1, one would not likely think this was my best dig ever.

The story with it, that before this dig (about an hour) I had been struck by a car and made it out to my site, alone, to dig in the very dark of a windowless basement in an abandoned building, would certainly take awards.

That I dug up one of the hardest to find Indian Head pennies, which cleaned up quite well to reveal over 90% of original details, makes the reader realise it was quite good of a dig.

0 intact bottles. 95% of an early 1900s jar lid insert. A eroded grommet. An intact pipe bowl and half a pipe. Most of a paver. A penny.

This occurred last year. All photos are from when I got home and laid the pieces on the ground. I've posted the penny here before after I cleaned it up.

I rarely find much intact, but I thank God for what I find and the stories that come with it.

Yep bear 90% of the glass pieces i dig are broken. Keep it up and eventually you find something that makes it worth the time.

FleaFinder, I look for glass, metal, or mounds on the surface. Also foundations of old buildings. The lake, I use my feet to feel around, wearing surf-mocks to protect from cuts.

CaperKid, oh I know very well.
