    I have this Gouda ewer and I'm interested in finding out when it was made and by who. I think it was made by PZH but I'm not sure.
    It is about 22cm high and as you can see in the photo is marked in blue on the base. It reads 243, Chrysanth, Gouda, what could be a drawing of the Lazarus gate, Made in Holland and then 3 little signs; a cross, a triangle and a H or 4. There is a letter C in black to the left. The ewer also has a stamped mark which seems to be the Lazarus gate as well. There are some other marks in the clay on the right, maybe a double L. I have seached on the net to find out what all the marks could mean and I think the C could mean it was made in 1900 but with "Made in Holland" I'm not so sure.
    Thnk you in advance for any info you may have.

      Normally, it's either difficult or possible to trace it to a specific person. Gouda is a blanket name for a number of potteries here in Holland. There are many factories here which produce Gouda items. Each potter has their own mark which is not necessarily recorded anywhere.

      243 is the model/style number.
