There were two versions made of this camera. The first one was 1 3/4" x 3 7/8" x 8 1/8" and the second was 1 7/8" x 4" x 8 1/8". Also the first one weighed 29 ounces and the second released after 1916 weighed 20 ounces. After measuring and weighing this it is clearly the early model. Thus an actual antique! Within ten years all the others will be full fledged antiques too so no big.
A nifty feature of this camera is the semi remote cord to activate the shutter. These cameras could be highly affected by operating the shutter directly.
It is covered with Persian Morocco leather which is probably just a made up name as Persia and Morocco are two different places.
Looks like we need a new category for folding cameras.

Glad you appreciate these early folding cameras. This was in production from roughly 1916 to 1931 ... very popular cameras. Naming conventions for these cameras was confusing and there were several different formats made (each with a different numerical designation). And more than likely a couple versions of each format. I don't know about distinguishing versions by weight, but it's typically done by serial number and/or looking at specific features. Then again, the exact model might be noted inside the camera's back. FWIW, Kodak used to advertised cameras with Morocco leather. Is there a reference you saw that mentions "Persian Morocco leather"? That would be interesting to me.

Thank you very much rniederman. Here is where I got my information.....

Not sure where they found out about Persian Morocco leather. I'll look it up.

It seems Morocco Persian is made from goatskin or was and tends to be made from sheep and calf skin. It is often used on bibles.

The content from Historic Camera is good. I know the guy who runs the website. He gets the camera information from actual company catalogues. And I learned something new about Persian morocco leather.

Glad to hear my information is good. I should probably credit my source when I make a post.
I learned about Persian morocco leather too.
