I bought this off my friend, Malva, for 10 bucks. That's all she asked me for...I tried to give her 15 but she said no!
If I ever went to Mexico, I would go straight to Taxco....with a lot of money....

olebodie - yes, that's what it is. Malva is a jewelry hound, like me, and we give each other good deals. We never ask from each other a price we would ask if we were to sell it to someone else. :-))))))) Often, we just give each other stuff!

She found it! It's almost identical, but with 5 narrower teardrop shapes, and greenish rather than turquoise chips. The surround and the geometric line design are the same. It's stamped "Mexico TBN" on the back. It has the same dual function as a brooch pin/pendant as yours.
She thinks it was a gift from my dad's brother and his wife from a trip to Mexico they had been on. I remember them coming back from that trip so it was probably late 70s/early 80s.
pebble - hers is also Taxco.
