    I wanted to show an example of weaving in the colonial overshot pattern called SNAILS TRAIL AND CATS PAW. I wove it in black and white wool, and as you can see it is reversible. Many colonial pattern weavers used the colors bright blue and cream/white and they were beautiful. This is slow weaving, careful counting, and a 3 shuttle weave.
    Note: it could certainly pass for modern graphic design.
    You will find this weaving pattern in many of the old early American coverlets.

      What a WONDERFUL textile !! I've never seen such designs. I owned one from 1853, but, it was an animal pattern.
