      "12 B" ? Meaning a 12 gauge shotgun case extractor ?

Yes 12 Gauge (bore diameter) shotgun case extractor. I would normally say 12 gauge but some people just say 12b short for 12bore.

I did get it from a sporting gun supplies website and thats what they called it.

I had one of these whistles for a long time before I realised that the end was an extractor. I saw it by chance in a reprint of an old catalogue. Some versions just had the extractor with no whistle.

I'm most familiar hearing "12 bore" etc., but not "b".
