    Came into possession of this at the same time of my previous post. I know nothing about them, they were purchased at a yard sale about 25 years ago and went into a shoe box.

      George III salt spoon.
      Assay office mark is missing, making the identification more difficult. It was done on purpose to prevent fraudulent ``duty dodging``, i.e. paying duty on light items (like your spoon) then inserting the set of marks into much heavier piece.
      Based on the background (cartouche) date letter looks like London 1816 and the maker is John Lias (registered Jul 1799) Recorded activity 1801..1817.
