My next project -- this one is gonna hurt... all that paint on the slats... over four different colours... still rare to find a dome top zinc trunk so hopefully it will be worth the effort... my fingers are numb just thinking of the scraping...
This is the final product -- came out pretty well -- thanks everyone for comments and loves...

Oh, this is gonna be a real BEAUTY!!!! Love that double lock. Winter's on it's way, so what a great winter project this one will be.

You are right too, hard to find zinc dome.
If you have the ability and tools and space to do it you are even more blessed. :)

Thanks Drill -- the look on the porter's face about matches mine looking at this "project" sitting in my garage -- great poster. Thanks for the encouragement -- literally have to chip away at this one... four coats of lead paint on the slats is a real "kicker".
