    I got this penny and noticed that it was showing silver undernieth. Then I noticed everything was bigger. The worods, face and date.

      A 1993 Lincoln cent is copper plated zinc. Somebody apparently tried to clean it and exposed the zinc underneath.

      It's been many decades since I handled U.S. pennies regularly & didn't know about this. Guess the gov't. really is broke !
