It is real. The American Bank Note Co. has been around along time and prints many notes for many countries.
Thanks AR8Jason and James...................
Really wish I could read this, I assume it is Portuguese?

Type in small phrases and hit translate into English, (or in your case "Old English") :-)
Ha Ha very funny Kevin................LOL
Thanks Kevin, I did go there, found out what all of the words are and that it is a 100 Cruzerios note, it is worth about $ 0.02 at todays exchange rate LOL this is the old currency of Brasil and was replaced in 1994.
I also found a nice site for exchange rates:( http://coinmill.com/) just FYI
The problem with exchange rates is finding someone willing to exchange them at that rate. I found nearly $40.00 worth (US) Mexican money in a thrift store for about $2.50. I talked to my bank about exchanging it and that said it was not too easy but they could get it done. For about $35.00 and a percentage of the cash ... I could exchange it through them. If I lived near the border it would be easier/cheaper.
The other choice is finding someone from Mexico in the US and getting some kind of exchange with them. But what is the possibility I would run into someone from Mexico in the US or someone with relatives in Mexico?
Ya know, Kev, if you run out of things to post, you and Pops could do stand up show on the road !!!
old english", now THAT's funny!
Don't encourage him Savoychina1.!!!
I could do the stand up, but at Pops age he can only do wheel chair.
Ba dum bum..............ching !
Oh, good ...Pops could do the drum for our routine.
MyCollection ... Do they charge you a hefty fee as well?
I like your bank fees better. Still at that rate, I can see the transaction is one that is very profitable for the bank.
That is why when I went to foreign countries I tried to convert only the money that would be spent while there. Only in Australia was American dollars NOT preferred for transactions.
The bank in Australia had people come aboard our ship and exchange to Aussie Dollars and then as we left they came aboard again and changed it back, making money both ways. Nice business if you can get it.
