I like the colors and condition of this pretty little piece i picked up at the flea market today. i have 3-4 of these now and they definitely grow on me.

not sure whether this should go in American Art Pottery, or not?

Looks like Nemadji Pottery Ho2. The marks are ink stamped and usually wear off over time....I have a few pieces as well. Nemadji pottery comes from the Arrowhead region of Minnesota. It has never actually been made by native Americans, but is said to be reminiscent of the style and colouring used by them. :)

Nemadji Pottery of Minnesota began in the 1920s and stopped production in 2001. They began producing tile and utilitarian pieces but became best known for the multicolor swirl painted "Indian" pottery - promoted as "inspired by", no Native Americans were actually involved.
Nemadji decors are external. The unglazed ware is dipped in a tank of water with enamel paint floating on the surface and turned as it is removed. Desert Sands is made with multicolored clays.

I have 4 or 5 in different shapes & colors... usually reasonably priced, but still decorative.
