Hi, I would realy appreciate it if anyone could tell me what this is. Ive taken it to an antiques shop who hasnt seen anything like it. One person said its brass & another bronze, it has hole through the middle & two hanging bits on the side & its very heavy weighing in at 15.8kg (2stone'7lbs) its got a wavey top & pattern round the side. Any help greatly appreciated.

Part of a light fixture or lamp? If the hole doesn't go all the way through from top to bottom I would say it was an oil lamp of some kind.
